WHO says ready for further assessment of Sputnik V vaccine
GENEVA, Oct 21 (PRIME) -- The World Health Organization (WHO) is ready to assess Russia’s Sputnik V anti-coronavirus vaccine for emergency use and is waiting for full information for the analysis, a spokesperson for the organization told PRIME on Thursday.
“The WHO welcomes signing by the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) of all the legal agreements necessary for assessment (of the vaccine) while including it in the emergency use list. We are waiting for complete information for the analysis and further evaluation,” the spokesperson said.
On Wednesday, the RDIF CEO Kirill Dmitriev hoped in an interview with the CNN television channel that the WHO would approve the Sputnik V vaccine in the next few months.
